Château d'Issan 2015

Blend

The 2015 vintage is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. This minority grape variety adds spicy notes and complexity.

Tasting

Colour: A beautiful deep garnet-red colour, dense and brilliant, heralding great concentration.

Nose: Very expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and violet, accompanied by notes of cedar, light tobacco, graphite, truffle, sweet spices and dark chocolate.

Palate: The attack is supple and full-bodied. The palate reveals a fine balance between density and freshness. The tannins are fine, enveloping and well integrated. There are flavours of ripe black fruit, liquorice and graphite, with a fine mineral tension. The finish is long, elegant and slightly saline.

Wine and food pairing

Château d'Issan 2015 will go magnificently with grilled entrecôte, tournedos Rossini, saddle of lamb with herbs or a feathered game dish. It will also go well with mature cheeses such as aged Mimolette or fruity Comté.
