Winemaker and Vineyard: The terroir of Château Haut Rocher in the St Emilion appellation is highly qualitative, located on the slopes of the town of Saint Etienne de Lisse, facing south/southeast. The soil is clay-limestone on molasse from Fronsac. The average age of the vineyard is 40 years. The terroir of Château Bréhat is in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The 5-hectare plot is adjacent to the St Emilion appellation. The soil is clay-loamy over a limestone subsoil, facing south at the foot of the slopes. The average age of the vines is 30 years.

Tasting: Blended of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec, the 2018 Haut Rocher is deep garnet-purple colored and features baked cherries, warm blueberries and preserved plums notes with touches of scorched earth and truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with juicy fruit, framed by rounded tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing fragrant. (robertparker.com, 23.04.2019)

Service: Serve at room temperature (16-18°C) to accompany an eggplant tarte tatin with herbs of Provence.
