Château Moulin Saint-Georges 2019, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru - MAGNUM - Parker 94
(€75.34 L)
Elegant and complex, this wine stands out for its aromatic harmony and finesse. Persistent finish.
Winemaker and Vineyard: The vineyard of Château Moulin-Saint-Georges spans 8 hectares where Merlot reigns supreme, with a few plots of Cabernet Franc. On this clay-limestone signature, the planting density can vary from 5,500 to 12,600 feet per hectare. The wine that emerges from this exceptional terroir is the fruit of significant soil and vine work. After manual harvesting and parcel sorting, the juices undergo traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks followed by aging 100% in new barrels.
Tasting: The Château Moulin Saint Georges 2019 is a superb representative of Saint-Émilion, both elegant and complex. The blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc creates a beautiful aromatic harmony dominated by red fruits. Aged in new oak barrels, it features subtle woody notes that fade gracefully on the palate. The wine stands out for its relative lightness compared to other Saint-Émilions from the Vauthier family, while remaining romantic and seductive. The more aggressive tannins of the 2018 vintage have given way to a finesse that leans on the roundness of the Merlot. The finish, elegant and persistent, makes this a more complex wine than it first appears. A work of velvet and nuance.
Service: Serve at room temperature (16-18°C) to accompany a lemon and bell pepper filet mignon.
