Der Jahrgang 2016 gilt in Bordeaux als außergewöhnlich. Nach einem verregneten Frühling war der Sommer heiß und trocken, was eine langsame und gleichmäßige Reifung der Trauben ermöglichte. Haut-Bailly, der für seine Eleganz und Präzision bekannt ist, bietet 2016 einen Wein, der zugleich kraftvoll und rassig ist und die Größe seines kieshaltigen Terroirs in Pessac-Léognan perfekt verkörpert.

Farbe: Tiefes Rot mit intensiven purpurnen Reflexen.
Nase: Komplex und raffiniert. Noten von reifen schwarzen Früchten (schwarze Johannisbeere, Brombeere), Schwarzkirsche, süßen Gewürzen (Pfeffer, Lakritze), blumigen Nuancen (Veilchen) und perfekt integrierten Holzakzenten (Zedernholz, Graphit, Vanille).
Mund: Voller und seidiger Auftakt. Feine und kräftige, perfekt eingebettete Tannine. Sehr präzises Mittelstück mit reiner Frucht und einer herrlichen Frische. Langer, komplexer und harmonischer Abgang mit würzigen und mineralischen Noten.
