Château de Millet is a family estate located in Eauze, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, a region renowned for the quality of its eaux-de-vie. The estate's vines are planted on sandy soils known as ‘tawny sands’, which give the armagnacs their finesse and elegance.
The 2004 vintage is produced exclusively from that year's harvest. The distillation was carried out on the estate in a traditional wood-fired still. The grape variety used is Baco, known for its ability to produce supple, aromatic eaux-de-vie that are suitable for ageing.
After distillation, the Armagnac is matured for a long period in 400-litre oak barrels in the estate's cellars. No additions were made (no caramel, sugar or flavouring), and the armagnac was not filtered, in order to preserve all its authenticity. It is bottled at the château at 42% alcohol.
On tasting, it has a lovely amber colour. The nose is fine and delicate, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate, the attack is round and balanced, with a fine aromatic presence, combining fruit, wood and spices. The finish is long, elegant and slightly spicy.
This 2004 Bas-Armagnac stands out for its naturalness, finesse and beautiful harmony. It's a vintage that's both accessible and refined, perfect for a quiet tasting session or as a gift.
