Château Gazin 2019, Pomerol - Parker 91-93
(€180.00 L)
Perfectly ripe, with hints of prune and black fruit and no excessive oakiness, this tender, generous wine is an instant hit.
Winemaker and Vineyard: The vineyard of Château Gazin extends over an area of 26 hectares, in a single holding, on the upper terrace of the Pomerol terroir. The terroir of Château Gazin is composed of Gunzian gravels on the surface and a subsoil of blue and green clays with iron oxides (iron residues). These clays (smectites) ensure a reasonably stable water supply for the vines, characteristic of great terroirs. The clay-gravel subsoil of the Pomerol plateau is the essence of Château Gazin's terroir.
Tasting: The 2019 Gazin is a fleshy, dramatic wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of ripe berry fruit mingled with subtle hints of truffle and violets, its new oak already entirely integrated. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's broad and textural, with lively acids, powdery tannins and fine length on the finish. - robertparker.com, 04.07.2022
Service: Serve at room temperature (16-18°C) to accompany wild duck with apples.
