Château Gloria 2019, Saint-Julien - Parker 91-93
(€70.00 l)
Medium to full-bodied, the palate is bursting with juicy black fruit flavours, framed by accessible, ripe, grainy tannins, finishing pleasantly earthy.
Winemaker and vineyard: Created by Henri Martin and the only one of its kind as this 50-hectare vineyard was put together piece by piece over a number of years, through the purchase of plots exclusively from grands crus classified in 1855. The origin of the terroirs, the care taken over the growing and the vinification all help to explain its world-renowned quality.
Tasting: "Deep purple-black colored, the 2019 Gloria comes bounding out of the glass with all the energy of a new puppy, featuring notes of baked plums, black cherry preserves and warm cassis plus hints of spice box, pencil lead, woodsmoke and dried mint. Medium to full-bodied (the alcohol states 14.2%), the palate is packed with juicy black fruit flavors, framed by approachable, ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing pleasantly earthy." robertparker.com (6/2020)
