Nose: Expressive aromas of black fruits such as blueberry and blackberry, complemented by elegant floral notes of hyacinth and rose. With aeration, delicate spicy nuances of liquorice emerge.

Palate: The Carbonnieux Rouge 2022 offers a smooth and velvety attack, a rounded structure and finely integrated tannins. Its vibrant freshness blends harmoniously with flavours of red fruits and nutmeg. A balanced, powerful yet elegant Pessac-Léognan with excellent ageing potential.

Food pairing

The powerful yet elegant character of the 2022 vintage pairs beautifully with refined meat dishes such as beef fillet, rib-eye steak or Chateaubriand, as well as rack of lamb, game dishes (venison, roe deer) and slow-cooked meats such as Boeuf Bourguignon or Daube de bœuf. Its dense fruit profile and fine tannins also make it an excellent match for mature hard cheeses such as Comté, Cantal or Ossau-Iraty.
