Château Phélan Ségur 2015 - Saint-Estèphe (Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel)
The 2015 vintage of Château Phélan Ségur is one of the estate's most successful, the result of meticulous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The blend comprises 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot, aged for 18 months in barrels, 50% of which are new. It embodies both the classic power of Saint-Estèphe and a beautiful modern elegance.

Tasting
Colour: Deep red with purple highlights, dense and brilliant.
Nose: Rich and expressive, dominated by black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), enhanced by floral notes (violet), spices, smoke and a touch of graphite.
Palate: Fleshy attack, with firm, elegant tannins. Good density on the mid-palate, accompanied by well-balanced freshness. The finish is long and distinguished, with black fruit, sweet pepper and a discreet but persistent minerality.
Food and wine pairings
Serve with grilled prime rib, roast veal with porcini mushrooms, game birds or hard cheeses (comté, salers, old mimolette).
