Château Malartic-Lagravière - 2022

Origin: Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France

Type: Red wine

Grape varieties: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 2.5% Petit Verdot, 1.5% Cabernet Franc

Classification: Grand Cru Classé de Graves

Château Malartic-Lagravière is one of the most prestigious estates of Pessac-Léognan and one of the few properties classified as Grand Cru Classé de Graves for both its red and white wines. The estate is renowned for producing precise and elegant Bordeaux wines, combining power, freshness and mineral finesse. The 2022 vintage was marked by a hot and dry growing season, yet thanks to the exceptional terroir, it produced wines with remarkable concentration, freshness and balance.

Tasting notes

Colour: Deep garnet red with violet hues.

Nose: Expressive and complex, revealing aromas of cassis, blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry, complemented by delicate notes of violet, graphite, spices, roasted herbs and dark chocolate.

Palate: The Malartic-Lagravière Rouge 2022 is powerful, deep and elegant at the same time. The concentrated fruit is beautifully balanced by remarkable freshness, silky tannins and a precise structure. A refined and harmonious Pessac-Léognan with a long finish and excellent ageing potential.

Food pairing

The powerful and elegant character of the 2022 vintage pairs beautifully with refined meat dishes such as beef fillet, Chateaubriand, rib-eye steak or Beef Wellington, as well as rack of lamb, game dishes such as venison and roe deer, and slow-cooked specialties like Boeuf Bourguignon or Daube de bœuf. Its dense structure and fine tannins also make it an excellent match for mature hard cheeses such as Comté, Cantal or Ossau-Iraty.
