Winemaker and vineyard: Created by Henri Martin and the only one of its kind as this 50-hectare vineyard was put together piece by piece over a number of years, through the purchase of plots exclusively from grands crus classified in 1855. The origin of the terroirs, the care taken over the growing and the vinification all help to explain its world-renowned quality.

Tasting: “The 2012 is a successful effort once again from Château Gloria, a property that has been on a major qualitative roll for decades. Dense ruby/purple in color, it has sweet, juicy, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, no real evidence of any oak, but a fleshy, open-knit, meaty mouthfeel. Excellent purity, low acidity and ripe tannin all characterize this beautiful wine, which should drink well for 12-15 years. Another major sleeper of the vintage.” (The Wine Advocate | 208)

Service: Serve decanted for 2 hours at a room temperature of 17°C. Can be kept a least until 2030.
