Tasting notes
Colour: Deep ruby with garnet highlights.
Nose: Complex and typical of the estate, with aromas of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry), light tobacco, undergrowth, cedar, accompanied by a mineral and slightly smoky touch.
Palate: Straightforward, taut attack, with firm but ripe tannins. The structure is straightforward, with good concentration. The finish lingers on notes of liquorice, graphite and black fruit. A serious wine with classic, elegant balance.

A deep nose of fresh fruit aromas. Chiselled, intense and suave on the palate, with a balance and refinement rarely seen. Creamy and structured.
This is one of the best second wines of the Médoc. Like its elder, this is a classic, elegant wine, with a clear, well-designed structure and a long, fresh final.
This cuvée comes from a selection of two plots planted with Grenache, one in 1900 "Charbonnières", the other in 1949 "Esqueirons".
Medium-bodied, the palate reveals surprising energy, a finely grained texture, and finishes on a lingering mineral note.
