Château Haut-Tropchaud 2018, Pomerol
Balanced, powerful, polished tannins, fruity; with grilled beef.
Winemaker and vineyard: Michel Coudroy's estate extends over several appellations. He has the reputation of being a "real workhorse", which is not surprising given the almost 100 hectares of vineyards. With Pétrus and Co as neighbours, Haut-Tropchaud does not have a hard time at all; with 14 hectares, it belongs to the smaller estates next to La Faurie de Maison Neuve - but the site belongs to the top class in Pomerol, which becomes noticeable when enjoying the wine.
Tasting: Colour: cherry red, Nose: basket of dark berries, Palate: polished tannins, harmonious, fruity, very accessible.
