This wine has a beautiful deep ruby colour and has a powerful fruity, floral nose. The attack is frank and lively when the wine is young, after a few years it offers a variety of candied fruits with a velvety finish.
Once again, the château transcends the vintage and delivers a 2012 of remarkable purity and energy. Its definition and brilliance are absolutely fantastic, with a brightness of fruit and finesse of tannin which take it to the summit. Another landmark.
The 1995 vintage exhibits wonderful dark cherry and leather notes. Medium bodied with well integrated tannins and a nice earthy spice on the finish. A true expression of a classic Lynch-Bages.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in colour, the 2017 Branaire-Ducru gives up plum preserves, baked blackcurrants, kirsch and boysenberries with hints of earth, tobacco, herbs and pencil lead. Medium-bodied, the palate is fresh and clean with herbal sparks and a slight chew to the texture, finishing savoury. robertparker.com
The wine is a deep, dazzling purple. Initially rather closed, the nose opens with airing to reveal elegant fresh fruit, blackcurrant bud and eucalyptus aromas. A fresh, clean attack leads into a full, powerful and silky mid-palate, building to an incredibly long finish on notes of brioche and liquorice. An intense and stylish vintage to come back to in a few years’ time.
(...) the 2017 Grand-Puy-Lacoste was aged in French oak barriques, 75% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple coloured, it opens with notes of fresh black raspberries, kirsch and crushed black and red currants with hints of spice box, fragrant soil and potpourri. Medium-bodied, the palate is frisky and fresh with a moderate level of approachable, soft tannins and compelling restraint on the finish. robertparker.com
