Connétable de Talbot, Saint-Julien Connétable de Talbot 2018, Saint-Julien

This is one of the best second wines of the Médoc. Like its elder, this is a classic, elegant wine, with a clear, well-designed structure and a long, fresh final.

Château Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

(...) 2017 Pontet-Canet gives up beautifully fragrant notes of rosehip tea, lilacs, cinnamon stick, cloves, dried leaves and underbrush with a core of kirsch, raspberry coulis, warm plums and red and black currants plus a waft of pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing, minerally and wonderfully elegant with a well-played texture of approachable, plush tannins and a long, fragrant finish. Beautiful. (...)

Château Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

Deep, dark red colour. The nose is very deep, with powerful aromas of black fruit and spice. The wine starts out quite powerful on the palate, but softens on the middle palate, developing a lovely velvety texture. The finely polished tannic structure is enhanced by considerable concentration and full, luscious body. The aftertaste is very long.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2011, Pauillac 5° Grand Cru Classé - MAGNUM - Parker 91

Deep and intense red color. The bouquet releases the typical aromas of black fruits and blackcurrant with added spices. The attack on the palate is pronounced, showing a structure that is both elegant and balanced. All together the wine allies finesse, freshness and persistence.

Domaine de Chevalier, Pessac-Léognan

The 2017 Domaine de Chevalier is deep garnet-purple in colour with a nose of baked plums, black cherry compote, fruitcake and violets plus wafts of fragrant earth and rosehip tea. Medium-bodied, the palate has loads of fruit with plush, rounded tannins and a lively finish. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, this vintage spent 18 months in French oak, 35% new.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, Pauillac

(...) Soon revealing floral notes of lilacs and lavender over a core of black raspberries, warm blackberries and forest floor plus touches of star anise and stewed black tea. Medium-bodied, the palate is a bundle of energy and tension with softly played tannins and beautiful floral and black fruit layers, finishing with a long-lingering whisper.

Château La Dournie, Saint-Chinian - Elise

“Perfumed, floral notes suggestive of violets, crushed stone and blueberry aromas. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and lush but not over the top, showing great balance and elegance on the lengthy finish.” Parker 93 (The Wine Advocate | 236)
