Château Gruaud Larose 2018, Saint-Julien Grand Cru Classé - Parker 95-97
The 2018 Gruaud Larose is blended of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, with a pH of 3.88 and 14.2% alcohol. Deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with bold black cherries, mulberries, plum preserves and blackcurrant cordial scents with hints of menthol, lilacs, licorice and cloves plus wafts of fallen leaves and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied with a taut core of ripe, densely packed, muscular fruit, it has a firm line of ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy. Very exotic Gruaud! robertparker.com

A champion of longevity. Even when young, Talbot is pleasant and rounded, ever distinguished by silky, mild and very civilized tannins. It’s a racy wine, with complex marks of Havana and licorice, classically delicious without ever the slightest hint of austerity.
Deep ruby; its complex nose offers a great intensity of red fruits (raspberry, strawberry and cherry) when it is young then dark fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) after few years. In the mouth, you can find some spicy notes as pepper and nutmeg when it starts to be aged.
Deep garnet-purple coloured, the 2017 Léoville Barton charges out of the gate with bold notions of baked plums, crème de cassis and blueberry preserves plus wafts of pencil shavings, fragrant earth and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating black fruit preserves with compelling herbal sparks and a firm, grainy texture, finishing long and lively. robertparker.com
