Deep and intense colour. Generous and fresh nose of ripe fruits. Red and
black berries mixed with lightly peppery spices. Menthol and liquorice.
Immediate fruit and freshness on the palate. Full-bodied wine with structuring ripe and supple tannins without hiding finesse and complexity. Nice acidity gives tension and freshness. Very long class finish.
The wine is a deep, dazzling purple. Initially rather closed, the nose opens with airing to reveal elegant fresh fruit, blackcurrant bud and eucalyptus aromas. A fresh, clean attack leads into a full, powerful and silky mid-palate, building to an incredibly long finish on notes of brioche and liquorice. An intense and stylish vintage to come back to in a few years’ time.
Very deep purple-black in colour, it offers up a cedar chest, cinnamon stick and cloves-laced nose with a core of crème de cassis, blackberry compote and preserved plums (...). Full-bodied, concentrated and sporting a firm frame of velvety tannins, it has a lively line lifting the densely packed fruit, finishing long and on a compelling savoury note. robertparker.com
This quintessential Pauillac offers an intense and profound sensory experience of great complexity. Château Pichon Baron exhibits elegance, intensity and exceptional length on the palate. It is a wine that improves year after year and can age for over 40 years in the cellar.
